Situada en la Plaza Fuerza Aérea Argentina, frente a la estación de tren de Retiro se encuentra la Torre Monumental -antes de la guerra de Malvinas se llamaba Torre de los ingleses-.
Esta torre fue donada por los residentes ingleses en 1910 con motivo del centenario de la Revolución de Mayo. Fue diseñada por Ambrose Paynter bajo el estilo de renacimiento isabelino. Toda su construcción posee objetos y símbolos ingleses que guardan la armonía con el todo coherentemente con su estilo. Posee un ascensor vidriado que se eleva hasta el sexto piso. Desde allí se puede disfrutar de una vista inigualable de la zona de Retiro, el puerto y la plaza San Martín. Tiene 70 m de altura y está coronada por un típico reloj inglés. Sobre su cara externa se observan distintos símbolos de ornamentación británica: la flor de cardo, la rosa de la casa Tudor, el dragón rojo de Gales y el trébol de Irlanda. Se destacan además los emblemas de Inglaterra y de Escocia como el león rampante y un unicornio.

It located in the Plaza Argentina Air Force, opposite the train station Retiro is the Monumental Tower -before the Falklands War was called Tower of the Englishmen.
This tower was donated by the British residents in 1910 to mark the centenary of the May Revolution. It was designed by Ambrose Paynter under the Elizabethan Renaissance style. From there you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the Retiro area, the harbor and the San Martin Square. It is 70 meters high and is crowned by a typical English clock. Thistle flower, the rose of Tudor house, the Red Dragon of Wales and the shamrock of Ireland on its outer face different symbols of British ornamentation are observed. They also highlight the emblems of England and Scotland as the rampant lion and a unicorn.
