buenos aires, puerto madero

Puerto Madero is the youngest district of the city and an attractive gastronomic center and nightlife; also one of the most unique. For several years it has grown by leaps and bounds. Modern buildings that rise, many people walking around there on weekends, and many new (and expensive) properties with unique views and amenities several. In this neighborhood, its streets pay tribute to outstanding women in Argentina's history.
The Río de la Plata has played a key role throughout the history of the city of Buenos Aires and its port was the exclusive access to urban space from elsewhere as well as the output space for local products and goods. The whole history of the country went around the importance of the Buenos Aires docks.
In the late nineteenth century it was decided to give the city a suitable port infrastructure, and the proposed Madero, which provided the port location in the vicinity of the Plaza de Mayo, and the works were inaugurated in 1897. Then was held in the early twentieth century, red brick warehouses that today constitute the stamp of the neighborhood were built. Due to the ineffectiveness of the draft Madero (soon became obsolete by not considering the increasing size of cargo ships), between 1911 and 1930, the Puerto Nuevo was built in its place, so that the area was abandoned for more than 50. In 1989 it was decided to rescue the old port area to integrate the city to the river.

One of the most beautiful parks in the city, which is located in the neighborhood of Belgrano, are called, Barrancas de Belgrano, and one of the few natural ravines that remain.
Its irregular perimeter has three seats; two calls Barrancas de Belgrano and the third located at its center is the Plaza Antonio Mariscal Sucre. The design of this park was made by renowned landscape architect Carlos Thays, are hallmarks of this and other parks authorship and design, the imperial palms.
Until the mid-nineteenth century Rio de la Plata arrived at the foot of these cliffs. Mitre Railway embankment built at that time, served to hold water and dry land. In the ravines there are over 60 plant species, as ombúes, palm trees, magnolias, oaks, honeysuckle and ceibos. Among the sculptures (many of XIX century) a replica of the Statue of Liberty made by the author of the original, the French Frédéric Bartholdi stands. At the top of the park there is a gazebo where bands used to play and today tango and folklore dancing on Sundays.
The canyons are in the area surrounding the Belgrano C station, where trains to pass Tigre or Retiro (Mitre Line).
